NOTE FROM ARTIST INSTRUCTOR: Abandon your self. This is a learn-through-experience, creative-philosophy ride through abstract painting where mark making, messing up, and failure are vital tools in our ability to break free of the barriers that hold us back from starting daunting, unknown territory art projects. Like a great run on sentence, I’ll be your guide through little (giant) tips and tips, hyper-encouragement, invented hyphenations, and psychological tools on moving on from what is and what isn’t working – towards a wealth of new (or reminded) knowledge, possibly a finished painting, and hopefully an electrifying spark to not take your inner critic too seriously. We will discuss the vital rules and how to break them into tiny little pieces for reassembly somewhere else more effectively. Pop culture and music will be discussed during these art classes.
